Natural Ways to Boost Immune System
-Get your vitamins/minerals from whole grains, proteins, fruits, and vegetables
(Studies prove that people eating these get sick less. The nutrients in them can help your immune system combat viruses and bacteria.)
-Control your stress levels
(High stress levels have been proven to decrease immune system. Recently, a study of law students found that their immune systems worked with their thoughts about how tough school would be. Therefore, when the law students felt better about school, they had a better immune system. When they were worried, their immune system slowed.)
-Consistently get enough sleep daily
(Lack of sleep does not allow your body to recover so your immune system weakens. Sleep needs vary among people so make sure you find your optimal amount. Suggestions are adults need 7-8 hours, teens 9-10 hours, school-aged children 10 hours, preschoolers 11-12 hours, and newborns need 16-18 hours.)
-Cover your mouth when you cough and/or sneeze
(This will stop the spread of germs that can lead to sickness.)
-Minimize your exposure
(If you know someone that has a cold, flu, covid-19, etc., do your best to stay away or protect yourself from germs. You can use masks and gloves to help you.)
