Wow! Summer is officially here. Outdoor adventures, BBQ’s, beach, sunscreen, and fit bodies. I know you have made progress towards your summer body, right?

Today is a new day for you to make another step. Summer season in California is going to be a hot one. If you are not where you want to be take some time and think back to what you have been doing over the past 6 months. Reflection is always good to show you where you came from. If you are willing to constructively criticize yourself, you will find success and room for improvement.

I know it is tough to really take that hard look, yet it is so good to do. That way you keep it real with yourself. I have shared with you about my weight loss journey and when I reflect, my scale shows me 40lbs lighter today. It has not been easy and still continues to be tough to keep it off. I had to reduce my calorie intake and add more cardio to my workouts. I increased my protein intake and reduced my carbs to have a better balance of nutrients. I added more bell peppers, broccoli, carrots, and cauliflower. These are all foods that I ate in very small amounts before. Now they are a bulk part of my menu and I am getting used to them. I used nutritional supplements such as fat burners, meal replacement shakes, and an herbal cleansing system to help me.

What are you willing to sacrifice to get where you want to be? Have you ever noticed people in your life that do these crash diets? They lose weight fast with extreme actions, only to gain it back a few years later. My thought is that these people were highly motivated to get the weight off, which is a good thing, but they did not take time to learn the habits of consistency to help them in the long term. It has taken me over a year to drop my weight unlike others who can do it in a month or two. I am fine with my results because I learned how to control my relationship with food. I learned how to control my snacking and my mindless eating when I watch TV or am online working. I learned how to stay consistent with cardio training since I have always been weightlifting for a majority of my training sessions to add lean muscle mass.

I share this with you because I want you understand that you are not alone on your journey. I have my struggles too. Embrace the struggles because they all go with your journey of success. You must believe that you can achieve your goals or else why even set out to do them. I hated cardio and loved weightlifting/explosive training. I don't love cardio however I know it is a portion of a total fitness package. To succeed you must be willing to get uncomfortable. Do those things that you do not like and make you uncomfortable so you can watch your life change. Embrace it all!

Happy Monday!

Make it a fantastic day!
