Success is available to you with your consistent focused attention and hard work. Please do not let things hold you back that you are able to control. Do you have any habits that may be sabotaging your life? Do you bite your nails? Nail biting damages your teeth and the skin around your nail bed. It can cause you to get more colds and illnesses since fingers are often carry germs to the mouth. Burn the midnight oil, stay out all night, and the sleep when you are dead mentally are some things to reconsider. Of course you need to work and you also need to sleep. I have heard many people say they do not need much sleep; however, their bodies will not be replenishing. Not sleeping enough has been linked to high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, and depression. Set your sleep cycle and stick to it. Lights, camera, action.....no you are not in a movie, but you may be watching one. Electronics such as phones, computers, and TV's give of blue light which some studies have shown to be linked to cancer. So, breast and prostate cancer, diabetes, obesity, and heart disease are linked to blue light. For your health sake, consider turning off the blue light before bed. Sitting on your bum bum. Yes, sitting is linked to weight gain, and heart disease. It does not take much to get moving. A 10 minute walk each day will help reverse the negative effect of sitting all day. Move around. If you work on a computer you can stand up and stretch. You can take a 5 minute walk up a few flights of stairs. Over consumption of the bubbly. Drinking too much has been linked to kidney disease, liver disease, heart problems, bone damage, digestive issues, and even some cancers. Men drinking more that 14 alcoholic beverages a week and women who have more than 7 drinks are more likely to have these issues. Stuffing in those delicious calories. Over consumption of food/drink is linked to weight gain. Even if you are eating healthy nutritious foods you can still gain weight. This can lead to heart disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure. Make sure you check the portion sizes of the food/drink that you are consuming so that you are not taking in too many calories. This also goes with foods such as soda, candy, and pastries because they are high in calories with little nutritional value. They are simple sugars that usually do not fill you up so you keep eating more and more. Puff, Puff, Pass Ever done that before? Smoking cigarettes effects every organ in your body. Smoking can lead to heart disease, cancer, diabetes, stroke, bronchitis, and emphysema. Even if you do not smoke and spend time around those who do, you are more likely to have asthma, heart disease, lung cancer, or a stroke. Find a way to stop smoking by taking to your Dr. Limit your time around people who smoke to the best of your ability. Reference: Sabrina Felson, How Your Bad Habits Affect Your Health, WebMD
