How are you feeling after a totally productive Monday? See what happens when you have a plan of action to complete. You stay focused on the task and before you know it, so much has been accomplished. For those of you on a weight loss journey, is your hard work paying off? Are you seeing constant results? If not, take a look in your routine to see if any of the following apply. Dropping that last 5 pounds is tough especially if you have been keeping your calories low in order to lose weight. Here is what may be happening. Your training is too intense or you are not eating enough. By starving yourself, you will send your body into self preservation where your body will decrease your metabolic rate. This is detrimental to your health and your success. What if you are feeling tired, more tired than usual? What is happening and what can you do? Most likely, you are not getting enough energy in your body in the form of proteins, carbohydrates, and fats. Remember, vitamins and minerals are found in foods and if you are consuming less food, you get less of these. Without these important elements, it makes it difficult for your body to function. What you should do is increase your calories slightly. This will get more energy into your system and you will not be as tired. With all of the food that you are eating you should also have regular movements through your digestive tract. If not, what is happening is that you are probably low on fiber which leads to constipation. Have you been irritable lately? Is it more than usual? If so, you are missing carbohydrates that help with mood stabilization. Without enough carbohydrates, your blood sugar levels may drop so low that your body does not have enough glucose to use as fuel.
