T G I F The Grind Includes Friday We are halfway through this month. Wow! Is this year going by fast or what? It is moving fast for me and I am grinding daily to achieve my goals. It has not been easy, and I understand that nothing great comes easy. This is one of the motivations that keeps me going. I finally have dropped below 175 for my cholesterol which was part of my overall nutritional plan change to help me drop body fat. All the menu changes have changed my outcomes for my blood work. I feel better, look better, and perform better overall. Exercise is so important to help us control what happens to our bodies. If you are not consistent with your workouts make sure you find a way to get it done. Your life is worth it. Some exercise is better than no exercise. I have shared information on what happens to our bodies when we are sedentary so make sure you go back and read it if you need a reminder. There is some great information in there that may motivate you to get moving.

Did you know? Even the best business plans will fail without a dedication to consistency. The best workout routine will not work if you don't work. You owe it to yourself that if you say you are going to do something that you follow through and get it done. Why, why be consistent? A. You can measure it. Until you have tried something new for a period of time, in a consistent manner, you cannot decide if it works or not. For example, if you are supposed to complete your daily steps at lunch and skip it for a week, then step on the scale and notice you are 5 - 7 pounds heavier, are you disappointed? You have to come to terms that you did not stay consistent and burn off the calories that you consume or over consume daily. B. Accountability speaks. For example, as your performance enhancement coach, if I am asking you to eat less pizza in exchange for more lean protein and veggies, then you should expect the same from me to deliver great workouts and food options that will help you get to your goals. The fact that there is a set time to report on progress is often the catalyst that moves us to a successful end.
C. Consistency establishes your reputation.
Weight loss requires a track record of success. You can't establish a track record if you are constantly changing from one menu to another just because you did not have a certain amount of weight loss one week. Your efforts fail before they get to the finish line because you did not stay the course to achieve the objective.
D. Consistency maintains your message.
Think about this in your workplace. Have you noticed that your team pays as much or more attention to what you do as to what you say. Consistency in your leadership serves as a model for how they will behave. If you treat a meeting as unimportant, don't be surprised when you find they are doing the same to fellow teammates or even customers.
Make It A Great Friday! Happy Father's Day! Have a fantastic weekend! Reference: Eric Holtzclaw, Power of Consistency: 5 Rules, INC

"One isn't necessarily born with courage, but one is born with potential. Without courage, we cannot practice any other virtue with consistency. We can't be kind, true, merciful, generous, or honest." - Maya Angelou "I don't have a formula to pass on. I always did it my own way. Even today, I hold my independence close. It's what's most precious to me. Passion. Risk. Tenacity. Consistency. This is my professional history." - Giorgio Armani
