What an awesome day! It's Thursday the 25th. It is another day that you can take steps towards your dreams and goals. I took some time to read about a key part of success. Here are some highlights from the information that I read. Think about what you do to get to a destination right now. With the newest technology and updates we have access to information in seconds. Say you have to get the airport and need to find the fastest route. You must be specific on your route there. This is where GPS comes in. It will identify the airport destination by first calculating which roads will get you there most directly. Because of this, you will get to the airport and arrive in a timely manner. So, how does this apply to your goals? It is all about finding the most direct path to it while understanding that there may be traffic, roadblocks, and detours. Make sure you choose your weekly priorities carefully. Think about which activities will have the greatest impact on your relationships and the outcomes you care most about. Having a bunch of small and urgent tasks is not as efficient as having more valuable or important tasks. You cannot fit everything into your day so make sure you are selecting the most important tasks that will move you closer to your destination. Goals that matter can be ones that deal with personal improvement, planning for your future, professional growth, and strengthening relationships. Consider the actions that will build trust, make work easier for people, and create value for your customers, for example. Think about your weekly calendar as rows of empty containers. You can fill these containers up with less important things that keep you busy, yet you are moving slower to your destination. These are quick wins, however, the important things fall by the wayside. If you thoughtfully identify and schedule the most important things first, which are the priorities that require you to act on them rather than react to them, the less urgent, less important things won't derail your progress to your destination.
