Dropping pounds on the scale is a journey that will test you in many ways. Make sure you embrace this fact from the very beginning so that you are not frustrated if things do not go your way.
Remember:
Losing weight is a lifestyle change, not a diet.
Diet is a short term solution for a much deeper issue. Yes, the diet industry is booming because people are seeking a quick fix to a big problem. I am sure you have seen it or maybe even lived it on a diet that brought you or someone you know awesome results in weeks and/or months.
After you reached your goal weight you backed off and maintained the weight. Then, something changed in your life that lead you to start going in the other direction. You noticed your weight started to increase slowly and you started eating/drinking some of the items that you stopped having in the past. The next thing you know you have gained the weight you lost plus a few extra pounds a long with it.
What happen?
The short term fix did its job of getting instant gratification. The diet brought fast results that were noticed quickly by you and others around you. Your mind loved the attention and the fact that you accomplished something. It was great!
Then as you got comfortable, you began to relax on the steps you took to get to your goal. That is because these steps where part of the diet that you followed not permanent changes in your behavior.
Solution!
The focus on your journey must be habits because as you change these you then continue to maintain the weight loss success and continue to transform your mind and body in regards to why you consume foods/drinks. I know it is easier said then done when changing behavior. The adjustments of habits for long term success will be easy or hard depending on your determination for success.
