Everyday our bodies are working to break down cells and rebuild. Our bodies are over 60% liquid and we must make sure that we stay hydrated.
As summer is approaching, we must make sure that we stay consistent with our fluid intake.
Did you know?
A. Water increases your metabolism especially if it is ice cold water. Your body must work harder which burns more calories.
B. Water helps prevent muscle cramping and lubricates joints so that you can workout longer with less pains.
C. Almost 80% of your brain tissue is water so being dehydrated can stress your mind and body.
D. Water can help your heart pump blood more efficiently.
E. Water dilutes minerals and salts in urine to help prevent crystals known as kidney stones.
F. Water can help your body transport oxygen and nutrients to your cells.
These are some major benefits for drinking water. Make sure you are getting enough daily. Your body size, age, activity level, and general health play a role in how much you need per day. The recommendation is based on, in general, we lose 1 liter of water per day through sweating and other bodily processes. A general amount is 64 ounces of water a day, however this amount must be adjusted based on the factors listed above.
