This month is almost over and we are coming out of the pandemic slowly. How have you handled the past year? Have you gained weight? Have you loss weight?

Here are a few reminders on the importance of having fruits and vegetables in your menu.

Bell peppers are full of minerals and vitamins and a great addition to your salads.

Grapes, kiwi, and bananas are also delicious additions to add to your yogurt or to eat alone. Kiwi is high in vitamin C and potassium.

Apples are also loaded with vitamin C and fiber. Pears, cherries, and plums are also great to have alone or with your oatmeal.

Broccoli will help with lowering your cholesterol. It also has cancer fighting compounds to help our bodies.

Avocadoes have a good fat in them that will help our bodies function more efficiently.

Figs are great to have especially because they are high in fiber and calcium. A cup of dried figs has about the same amount of calcium as a cup of milk.

With all the great benefits these have doesn't it make sense to have them in your menu?

This is not a full list of the various fruits of vegetables that you should be eating. It is a reminder that there are many benefits to having them in your menu. The amounts to eat are specific to your health and fitness goals.
