100 degree days in the month of October? How are you doing today? What an unprecedented time we are living in. Each day that goes by something new is presented to us. To continue to make it, make sure you are remaining positive and looking for the positives in each situation. I know it is not easy because I have to life through these times right along with you. We are facing Covid-19 together plus dealing with the other situations in our lives. Here are some key things that you should do to keep it all together. These are in no particular order. With less constraints and more people getting outside, it is important to make sure you connect with supportive people. It is very critical that you have positive people speaking into your life. Eating healthy foods, limiting alcohol and stimulants, will allow your body to recover and fight off infections. A strong immune system is needed especially now with Covid-19. Having a work-life balance and getting regular exercise will help you with not burning yourself out. Being at home and working can be challenging so taking breaks throughout your day and doing something that will get your heart rate up will tremendously help you. It does not take much. You can do push ups, squats, lunges, dips, and go for a walk, for example. Just as you are working and getting your exercises completed you need to rest. Sleep is very important to allow your body to refresh and heal itself from the inside out. As far as how much sleep is necessary various studies find 6-8 hours to be adequate. You can make your adjustments as needed for your individual needs. See a counselor, coach or therapist if things get too heavy, hard, and overwhelming. You owe it to yourself to be at your best daily. It does not hurt you to chat with a professional to help you sort through difficult phases in your life.
