Happy Tuesday!
Today is a new day for you to move forward on whatever goals you set for this year.
Now, let's briefly look at weight. If your goal is to lose weight, make friends with your scale. Do not get mad or frustrated when you get the number because it is important to track what is working and what is not.
Remember, in order to lose 1 pound, your calorie balance needs to be 500 less calories than normal each day of the week. 500 calories x 7 days per week = 3500 calories less. You can control this number with what you are consuming daily. You can also help this number by exercising in a manner that will help you burn the maximal amount of calories in the time you have available to exercise.
When you weigh in, make sure you are even on both feet and wear light clothing. If you are comfortable you can weigh in with no clothes. Stay consistent with what you are wearing/not to get a more accurate number. Keep in mind that scale type makes a difference too.
Morning is usually the best time after you have rested. Usually you have not had much food and drink yet. Throughout the day, do not be surprised if you weigh more. That is because you are eating and drinking. It will show up on the scale.
Not drinking enough water will change your number on the scale too. Our bodies are between 55% and 75% fluid/water. Falling below your natural fluid/water level can bring headaches, dry skin, trouble thinking, and sudden weight loss.
Salt has been known to cause you to retain water. Eating processed foods and snacks usually cause a person to gain pounds quickly because they are high in fat and sodium. Control your intake of salt daily.
Keep this in mind as you are going through this week and watch how your scale number changes. You do not have to weigh in each day, just enough to keep you focused on your progress.
Make IT A GREAT DAY!
