Yes! Yes! Yes! We made it to Friday. It has been an exciting and productive week, right? You are moving closer to your goals, right? If not, follow these steps to make sure you are on track to reach your goals.
Set Goals That Motivate You You have got to set your goal because it’s important to you. If you have little interest in the outcome then the chances of you putting in the necessary work to make it happen will be minimal. Motivation is key to achieving goals. Set goals that have high priority in your life. Set Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Time Bound goals Your goal must be clear and well defined. Remember you need the goal to show you the way so make it easy on yourself by defining precisely where you want to end up. Make sure you include precise amounts and dates, so that you can measure your degree of success. Without a accurate measure of your success you miss out on the celebration that comes with knowing you actually achieved something. Your goal must be achievable because if you set a goal with no hope of achieving all this will do you is erode your confidence. Your goal should be relevant in your life. Your goal should be relevant to the direction you want your life and career to take. Keeping yourself aligned with this will help you develop the focus you need to get ahead and do what you want. Your goal must have a deadline so that you can celebrate your success. When you are working on a deadline, your sense of urgency increases, and achievement will come that much faster. Write Your Goals Down When you write your goals down this makes it real and tangible. Choose words that are powerful. For example use the word will instead of would like to or might. Plan It Out This is how you get things done, you plan all the steps that you need along the way. Think about this, would you drive to a new destination without a map or GPS? Would you book a flight, rent a car, or buy a ticket without having a plan of action? Write out your individual steps and then cross each one off as you complete it. You will see that you are making progress towards your goals especially if your goal is big or long-term. Go To The End This is a journey so make sure you build in reminders to keep yourself on track. Take time to review your goals. Your end destination may remain quite similar over the long term but the action plan you set for yourself along the way can change significantly. Keep the relevance, value, and necessity super high. Here is this process that I used. I had a goal to make sure I was delivering content. I wrote down what I wanted. When I started this process I was very specific because I wanted to get out at least one post a week. I was able to measure it by simply looking at the work I put together. I was able to balance my life so that I had time to gather my thoughts, research, and create quality content. The information needed to be delivered consistently so I set up a realistic schedule. I need to make sure the content went out at a consistent time. I started with 1 post a week and moved up to 5. It was not easy in the beginning and I am glad I followed a system to get to where I am now.
Make it a fantastic day!
Have a great weekend!
